Produced from around 20 different varieties of Normandy apples this is a blended cider with a good sweet to acid balance. It is lightly filtered before bottling and ferments in the bottle giving it a fine mousse.
Jules Desfreiches on returning from the First World War in 1919 decided to turn his interest in the region’s agriculture and apple varieties into his business, influenced in no small part by his grandparents who had brought him up since he was orphaned as a child. In 1948 his son Jules joined the family business and it has remained in the family since. Now into their 4th generation, the family firm continues to produce delicious ciders and Calvados.
Their cider as a classic Normandy cider pairs perfectly with the local Camembertof course but other pairings such as a Langres or Brillat Savarin have the fatty richness to counteract its fruity acidity.
