Wholesale Sales Assistant – Full Time

Location: Bermondsey + London Sites

We’re looking for a full-time Wholesale Sales Assistant to join our team at Mons Cheesemongers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for cheese, people & sales, who’s keen to build a long-term career in the industry. You’ll be joining a small, dedicated team, working closely with some of the country’s best delis, cheese shops, and restaurants.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a significant training component. In your first year, you’ll split your time between our Wholesale department (2-3 days/week) and our Retail sites (2–3 days/week). This will give you a deep understanding of our cheeses, producers, and approach to quality and service.

After the training period, the role will become 5 days/week based in Wholesale, primarily at our offices and warehouse in Bermondsey

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting and developing relationships with a diverse portfolio of wholesale customers across the UK, including food halls, cheese specialists and some of the best restaurants in the UK.
• Generating sales and sharing knowledge about our products and producers
• Contributing to the development and growth of the wholesale department
• Helping our wholesale customers improve their sales - through both training and strategy.
• Eventually managing your own accounts.

Who We’re Looking For

Whilst it's a big plus, you don’t need previous experience working with cheese, but you do need to be:

• Passionate about food and excited to learn about cheese and our producers
• A strong communicator, confident in person, over the phone and in writing, with good public speaking skills.
• Organised and numerate, comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and product data, and able to turn complex data into clear and actionable insights.
• Strategic and practical, able to think ahead and respond to challenges as they crop up.
• A team player, ready to contribute to a small and supportive group as well as competently manage their own projects.

A full, clean UK driving license is a big bonus. Experience driving vans is a plus.

The first year will include regular weekend work as part of your training, particularly Saturdays at one of our retail sites (Borough Market, Bermondsey, Brockley, and East Dulwich).

Starting Salary: £30,000 - £42,000 pro rata (depending on experience)
