Le Grappin Bagnum

Title

After 5 years working with some of the best artisans in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production in diverse areas such as California, Central Otago, Yarra Valley and Burgundy, Andrew Nielsen and his wife Emma formed Le Grappin. They make wine by hand out at a cuverie in Beaune using the grapes from under-appreciated areas but grown by viticulteurs who take exceptional care of their fruit.

Bagnums are described by them as Vins de Soif meaning that they are easy drinking but vivacious, refreshing and delicious. They source their grapes for this range of wines from the Maconnais, Beaujolais and Rhone areas.

Bagnum Blanc, Chardonnay

This is a Macon Villages from Chardonnay grapes grown in the outskirts of Azé in the north of the appellation area It is a classic, fruity and clean white burgundy with plenty of elegant presence.

Bagnum Rosé, Cinsault

Made from Cinsault grapes from Nyons in the central Rhone valley, this wine has bright strawberry, red fruit notes and is lively and refreshing.

Bagnum Rouge, Syrah-Grenache

The grapes used to make this Bagnum Rouge come from Nyons in the central Rhone valley also and the two types are crushed together for fermentation. It is a classic Côtes du Rhone but with the lively edge and lightness of touch that characterises all Le Grappin wines.

Bagnum Rouge, Gamay
