Dried Figs

Location: Peloponnese, Greece

Produced by Dimitris Konstantakopoulos in the fertile Messina region of the Peloponnese, these figs are carefully hand picked, dried naturally under the Greek sun, with no additives or preservatives.

The sweetness of these figs marries well with many varieties of cheese but particularly paired with a lactic goats cheese like Ste Maure or Gour Noir or a tangy blue cheese like 1924 or Colston Bassett Stilton.

Corinth Raisins

Location: Peloponnese, Greece

Corinth Raisons are a small PDO protected variety of Greece from near Kalamata in the Corinthian region of the Peloponnese.  They are distinctive for an intense sweet flavour.

Their intense flavour marries well with a blue cheese like Colston Bassett Stilton or Roquefort but also with a more lactic hard cheese like Kirkham’s Lancashire (think Lancashire with Eccles Cakes).

Roasted Hazelnuts

Location: Grevena, Northern Greece

Whole hazelnuts roasted in their skins with neither added sugar or salt.  These are intensely flavoured and their nutty complexity marries well with both alpine cheeses such as Gruyere or L’Etivaz but also contrasts nicely with a blue cheese such as 1924.
