Ma Douce - Domaine Giachino

Grapes: Douce Noir (also known as Bonarda) & Persan, both Savoyard varieties.

Frederic Giachino inherited the land in 1998 and turned the area over to grape production, with a strong influence of the traditional Savoyard varieties which he is reintroducing.  He produces a range of organic wines in the Chartreuse Hills on the slopes of Mount Granier. The grapes are hand-picked and undergo carbonic maceration as whole bunches.  Ma Douce has spicy ripe fruit, good structure and a fresh, light, floral grassiness.  It feels soft and smooth in the mouth. 

This wine pairs well with St Nectaire or Tomme de SavoieBeaufort, Crottin de Chavignol, Selles sur Couffy and any of the melting cheeses like our Swiss Fondue mix, Raclette Au Lait Cru or Raclette Alpage.
